School “Aca-Pop” Workshops
High-impact vocal training for school choirs and vocal groups.
For over 10 years, Voices Co. Academy has been helping school choirs and vocal groups across New Zealand (and beyond) discover the joy of singing — and the confidence and skill that comes with it.
As NZ’s first and only Pop A Cappella specialists, our internationally recognised team brings professional-level coaching into schools, sharing the same expertise that has shaped award-winning vocal groups, with your students.
Our workshops use Pop A Cappella as the foundation, a style that is fun, engaging, and relevant, yet built on the core skills every strong ensemble needs: harmony, blend, tone, and performance craft. Students experience rigorous, outcome-focused training in a format they love, transforming choirs from a group of singers, to vibrant, inspired ensembles.
Fully curriculum-aligned, our workshops support the NZ Music Curriculum’s achievement objectives in performing, interpreting, and evaluating music. Schools repeatedly tell us how students leave energised, confident, and ready to thrive in rehearsals and performances, with measurable improvements in ensemble sound, skill, and musicality.
Delivered as a one-off intensive, annual bootcamps, or a series of workshops, our programme is a chance to invest in your choir and your singers, giving them professional guidance, inspiration, and the kind of musical experience that sticks for life.
Community Vocal Group Workshops
Whether you’re keen to enhance the existing sound of your ensemble, brush up on vocal technique, or up-skill in areas like microphone use or performance presentation, we can help!
Our Group Workshops are flexible and can be tailored to your needs as either a one-off session, or an ongoing course of 4-6 weeks.
Lead by Voices Co. Musical Director Julian Hay, our Aca-Pop Workshops have a strong focus on personal expression, creativity, confidence, and inclusion. We’ve worked with choirs, small groups, church vocal teams, and more, and it’s always really special to see the unique skills of each group enhanced.

ABOUT OUR WORKSHOPS:
Our Group Workshops are customisable, and can be tailored to your needs. Whether you’re looking for the full ‘Pop A Cappella’ experience, or simply looking to enhance the cohesion and vocal balance of your choir or group, we’ve got you covered!
Our tutors have extensive vocal training and professional experience as solo and ensemble performers, both nationally and internationally.
Although ‘pop music’ is the packaging, the technique and vocal applications we use are rooted in the best of both classical and contemporary ensemble singing, and can be applied to all kinds of singing.

PRICING
1 Hour Workshop starting from $200 (or $180 community / schools) for up to 20 participants
Half Day Workshop (up to 2.5hrs): starting from $375 (or $320 community / schools) for up to 20 participants
Full Day Workshop: P.O.A
Please note that the prices listed above are inclusive of Christchurch city suburbs. Engagements that require travel outside this zone will have a travel cost associated per KM. Feel free to get in touch to discuss your specific requirements.
